History of The Village Neighborhood on Lake Martin
The Village is a waterfront neighborhood with homes and lots for sale on the south side of Lake Martin. If you’ve driven by Chimney Rock toward the east side of the lake you may have seen it to the south. Located in the same slough as The Harbor, The Village has a unique look and vision: new homes of varying sizes and prices, some off the water, some on the water, very small “yards.” It literally looks like a little village on a hill. Aptly named.
The Village has 4 types of homes: 1) waterfront cottages, 2) some town homes with water views, 3) homes that are right across the street from the water and therefore have water views, and 4) off water cabins that are in the woods, away from the water. There is a neighborhood pool located near the cabins. The homes here were originally built by builder Brian Ray.
If you like newer construction – homes with hardwood floors, open floor plans, and porches – but don’t like the maintenance that comes with a lake home, The Village might be a good fit. All landscaping (yard work) is done for you, so it’s kind of like having a stand alone home in a condo community.
The Village is located off of Old Tree Road, off of Highway 50, pretty much across Old Tree from another waterfront neighborhood, Marina Marin.
